Or... Why I Haven't Built the Hovercraft Yet

Here are some pictures of the work I've done on the back of the house - decking to hide the old concrete patio, and some lovely new French windows.

As the doors were going to take some time to be made, the first job was to remove the porch, patch the concrete and build the top deck. Unfortunately, due to operator error, I forgot to take any pictures. It wasn't so exciting tho' - hardly used any power tools at all.

In the beginning. Still waiting, so it was time to construct an
obstacle course - otherwise known as
the frame for the bottom deck
A few planks on - and the weather turns
nasty. Down tools. Guinness is impressed.

Now for the next bit, we need some tools... Mmmmm... tools...

First remove the windows. Then the window frame. Building inspector.

Then get the tool you hired earlier. And apply to wall. Until it's sorry. Or at least apologetic.

By this time, it's dark. But there's a nice
neat hole in the house.
Behold! High security. Two sheets
of 4mm plywood held
in place with garden wire.

VERY early next morning
the workmen arrive to
fit the doors they've made.

All done and tidied up.
(Bar some plastering)
Looks a lot better.
(Shiny windows eh?)
View from the back room. Or up to the house. The bridge over the pond. And a very green garden.
