miSim DE 2.1 is a highly praised, powerful development environment that makes writing and debugging software for microcontrollers dramatically easier. It includes an editor, assembler and disassembler written from scratch to provide the best possible microcontroller toolset. The impressive core of this package is a simulator that simulates not only the microcontroller itself, but also devices connected to it in real time - from simple switches and LEDs to video displays and stepper motors.

Not only is miSim DE 2.1 a great standalone application. You can also run it within a browser as an applet for demonstrations and within a classroom environment. miSim DE is a great way to learn about or experiment with microcontrollers.

miSim DE 2.1 supports 12- and 14-bit Microchip PIC® MCUs. The Pic Simulator supports the PIC 16F84/83, the PIC 16C54/55/56/57 and has partial support for the PIC 16F876 and related devices.

miSim DE is written in Java (it is not a Java compiler) to provide a cross platform development tool for people using PIC MCUs or compatible chips on all platforms - Windows XP, Vista, 2000 or NT as well as Solaris, SunOS machines and Linux boxes.
